To provide an affordable membership category to young people
wishing to become R/C pilots.
Criteria:
All those seeking a
Cadet Pilot membership must ...

be an AMA member.

be accompanied at
all times while at the flying field by a senior club member/mentor
-
be less than
seventeen years of age
All those seeking to
move on to the Youth membership category (does not require a mentor's
guidance) must..

be a holder of a
Solo Pilot certificate.

have demonstrated
proper flight-line etiquette to his mentor.

have demonstrated
an understanding of appropriate safety procedures to a member of the
safety committee
Cost:
Cadet Pilot
membership fee is $5.00 per year. A credit of $5.00 will be given to
the Cadet when he advances to Youth member during the same membership year.
Definitions:
Cadet Pilot: A youthful student pilot under the
constant supervision of a senior club member while at the flying field
Mentor: Any senior club member taking
responsibility for the training and behavior of a Cadet Pilot while on the
flight line.
Solo Pilot Certificate: A certificate of
achievement awarded to a Cadet Pilot that can maintain stable flight and can
execute controlled takeoffs and landings while demonstrating an
understanding of club rules and flight-line etiquette.
